Cumann Arachais Oifigeach an Ghnath-Airm (CAOGA) was set up in 1952 on the inspiration of such far visioned officers as Brig Gen Bill O’Carroll and Col Jerome Counihan who at that time had witnessed the unfortunate family circumstances of the their fellow officer after death which can only have been described as being dreadful.
This was generally due to the lack of financial support for the family at the time and it is against this back drop that CAOGA as a life assurance society for Officers was set up and has stood the test of time over the intervening years. |
